Expect Hatred

John 15:18-27

• Five things to understand here:
  • 1 - As a Christian the world will hate you and reject you.
    • The world doesn’t accept or tolerate the Christian lifestyle or values.
    • The world rejected Jesus so much that He was crucified on a cross.
  • 2 - Satan is the ruler of this world and loves those who are of this world.
    • Satan hates God.
    • Satan hates Jesus.
    • Satan hates Christians.
  • 3 - Satan is no match for the Love of Jesus.
    • Because of the Love of Jesus Satan is defeated.
  • 4 - Jesus chose you “out of the world”.
    • Jesus pursued you and brought you out of the darkness of the world.
    • Jesus rescued you from the fires of Hell and brought you to a redeeming light.
    • Jesus loves you and offered you grace through the forgiveness of your sins by His death on the cross.
  • 5 - The world (and Satan who is the ruler of the world) will hate you because you belong to Christ Jesus through the saving power of His blood shed for you for Salvation into Eternal Life.
